RMT Secures Return of Uniform Cleaning Vouchers

RMT General Grades Committee decision:

We note that London Underground has agreed to our request to reinstate uniform cleaning vouchers. We instruct the General Secretary to inform London Underground of our acceptance of this; ask the company to restore the vouchers as soon as possible; and ask the company for a list of outlets which accept the vouchers. The company’s reply is to be placed back in front of us.

Barbican returns to SS3 but what about the rostered Supers there? The rep believes they should be able to remain there on their SS2 salary. LUL disagree's.

PPP Arbiter: Worrying Issues for Station Staff

Over on the RMT London Calling website, I have posted a detailed guide to the directions and guidance recently published by the PPP Arbiter. This is an important document, which may turn out to be a staging post in the collapse of Tube Lines and – following 2007’s similar collapse of Metronet – of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) itself.

Click the link to read the guide in full, or click 'read more' below to read extracts of particular concerns to station staff.

Functional council meeting Thursday 30th April

Below is a summary of the items discussed at the most recent Staions and Revenue functional council meeting.

Adverse weather

Following 2 referrals from Kings X and Harrow we discussed at great length the punitive measures used by LU, with the treatment of deducting 1 day’s pay or 1 day’s annual leave from staff who couldn’t get into work due to February’s bad weather.

What no canteen???

The redevelopment of King's Cross station continues apace - and LUL doesn't want to be troubled by little matters like the needs of staff.

Circle management say there are too few staff at the station to warrant us having canteen facilites. King's Cross currently has 176 staff - at the one location. The Group, (KX & Farringdon & Barbican), has 211.

Staff Mess Facilities

I'm trying to build up an idea about the type of facilities each GSM provides for his/her staff.
