TRAINING COURSES

RMT is running weekend courses at the Doncaster National Education Centre, as follows:
Women's training, 16-18 November and again in 2013
Black & Ethnic Minority training: early 2013
Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender training: mid 2013
The union also plans a week-long Equality At Work course.

RMT has developed a two-day Disability Awareness course, which will be offered to regions.

• Women's refuges - domestic violence policy

We had excellent contributions from the C of E member Janine Booth and the RO Steve Hedley. We also had a guest speaker who talked about the National Shop Stewards Network and the upcoming conference on June 9th in London.

COUNCIL OF EXECUTIVES REPORT

There were four resolutions carried at last year’s Conference all of which are set out in the 2011 Minutes already circulated to delegates. Two of these were submitted to the Annual General Meeting where they were carried. Each will be dealt with in turn.

• LU service control – decision today
• Cubic – ballot re pay (2.5%)/Olympics
• Cleaners – Initial/ISS
• Tube Lines – this week’s action – BW report
• Thales – ballot put on today
• Telent/Quinns – ballot decided, still being prepared
• TfL Olympics – ballot decided, still being prepared
• Time taken to prepare ballots – verbal report given

ENGINEERING ISSUES

• Track contract workers charter - has been launched
• Accord lift maintenance - dispute re recognition
• Thales pay - offer 1% - recommend rejection and ballot - referred to national sub-committee
• Telent/Quinns - ballot for strikes re pay/Olympics - national organising campaign
• Tube Lines pensions and passes - strike ballot taking place

OLYMPICS

• General - communication of developments to improve
• RMT claims for bonuses: flat-rate cash sum for all grades
• London Underground - back at ACAS 5/4/12
