Proposed Job Cuts: Waterloo Group

These are the job cuts that management are proposing on the Waterloo group (Waterloo and Westminster stations).

Waterloo

  • Reduction in full time rostered SAMFs from 22 to 13
  • All 3 part time SAMF position to be axed
  • Reduction in full time rostered CSAs from 35 to 25
  • No change in part time positions
  • CCA position has also been axed

Westminster

  • Reduction in full time rostered SAMFs from 6 to 5
  • 1 extra part time SAMF now on roster
  • Reduction in full time rostered CSAs from 16 to 9
  • 1 extra part time CSA on the roster

That’s a total of 28 full time jobs and 3 part time positions the management are proposing to axe and replace with just 2 new part time positions on this group.

=====

No staff have been allocated to do security checks at Waterloo or Westminster. That equals 140 staff hours at Westminster [4 extra staff needed] and 175 hours at Waterloo [5 extra staff needed].

No-one staffing the Jubilee platforms at either station [apart from peak] with TBTC just around the corner about 110 staff hours per week at both stations [3 extra staff required at both stations].

At Waterloo the Excess and Shell ticket offices are to be closed. The Excess closure will leave staff on the main gateline open to abuse. And the Shell ticket office closure will leave the CSA on the Shell gateline left to work on his/her own. To keep both ticket offices open will take an increase of 8 SAMF staff to the roster.
