Liverpool Street Group Job Losses
Dear Colleagues,
This morning I met with the GSM who presented me and the TSSA rep with the new rosters.
As we look at our local predicament we must not lose sight of the attack on jobs in other locations, and the fact that our nightmare has become reality for someone somewhere on the combine.
A brief glimpse at the rosters reveal the following job cuts, which as far as I can see are in addition to job losses through unfilled vacancies.
ALDGATE
1 full time SAMF to go!
SAMFs no longer a 0700-1100 duty, it is no 0615-1400 with a 0515 start on some Thursdays.
There are other changes to the rosters – see pdf below.
BARBICAN
1 full time CSA to go!
reduction in weekends for CSA’a
2 duties to cover at Liverpool Street station – which may be seen as a further dilution of rostered status.
FARRINGDON
1 full time CSA job to go
Fewer weekends off
Changes to rosters including dead lates
Loss of the 0700-1100 SAMF
The part time CSA 0700-1100 has also gone.
MOORGATE
To lose two part-time CSA jobs, specifically one of the 0700 starts and the 0800 start are for the chop, as well as changes to weekend working.
LIVERPOOL STREET
1 SAMF job for the axe,
the loss of a weekend for both CSAs and SAMFs
on p/t duty 1700-2100 moved to 1500-1900
[Also, see this indepth critique of the proposed new ticket office rosters]
The GSM has informed me that we- the trade union reps - are not expected to cause a fuss or to negotiate on staffing or service levels – to which we have always had an input in the past, and that our feedback should be positive. It was implied that we should actually stop you from complaining about attacks on your jobs!
In short it is fully expected that we will roll over whilst management put the boot in.
I asked with those who are losing their part time positions will be offered a newly created part time position (for example when a mid morning part time turn is dropped and a mid afternoon turn created) – there was no answer to that.
I asked by what method would be used to displace staff, I was told the company knows but will not share that information with the GSM until the rosters are agreed- which is in direct conflict with statements made in a team talk in which the two DSM’s – presumably under the GSM’s instructions – handed out a leaflet which said that job displacements would be effected on a last in first out basis!
I think we can safely assume that LUL is making it up as it goes along!
Don’t file your post away! Go through it, fill out the ballot paper and put the kisses in the YES boxes!
Keep checking this page and this site in case of updates!
Fraternally
