Report: Stations & Revenue Council, 3 February 2010

1. Mystery shoppers - report here

2. Complexity review - The complexity committee will visit High Barnet on 24 February, and Acton Town on a date yet to be finalised, with a view to uprating these stations and thus bringing about a pay rise for Supervisors.

3. Notting Hill Gate rest day roster - The GSM is to carry out a survey in conjunction with union reps and introduce the rest day roster if staff want it.

4. Brixton Step Back Supervisors - An update was given about various developments, and the issue referred back to level one for further discussion - management and RMT reps from the Stations & Revenue Council will attend the level one meeting.

5. Parental leave / special leave for domestic emergencies - Arising from a particular case, RMT asked that the company send a circular to all managers reminding them that it is unlawful to discipline a member of staff for exercising his/her legal right to take unpaid leave for domestic emergencies. Management refused, instead stating that they would only brief the manager involved. The issue will, however, be discussed by the APC (Attendance, Performance, Conduct working party), and RMT will be making the same proposal there.

6. CSAs moving emergency water supplies - Arising from a referral from Paddington group, where management have issued instructions to staff to carry trolleys with four crates of drinking water bottles up and down stairs, management agreed to look at whether this is an acceptable part of a CSA’s duties.

7. Freeze on SAMF nominations - On RMT’s request, management confirmed that there is no freeze on SAMF nominations and waiting lists are open as normal. MF-licensed CSAs who are eligible, and existing SAMFs who have not nominated within the last 12 months, may nominate. Ask your admin office, who will get the form from the intranet.

If you are told anything different, please challenge this, and tell your RMT Stations & Revenue Council reps.

8. Hand delivering of letters to staff’s home addresses. RMT objected to this practice: when staff give your home address to the company, it is so management can correspond with you, not so they can call round your house unannounced.

9. SRT document - details here.

10. Operational Strategic Plan - In response to RMT questioning, management reported that the Operational Strategic Plan project (job-cutting plan) had been completed in December, and a presentation given to the LU Executive Committee (new name for the Board of Directors) on 15 January. The Executive asked for further analysis and will receive a report back on 26 March.
