RMT Forces Management to Remove SRT Document from Intranet

RMT has successfully demanded that London Underground management remove from the Intranet a document about the Special Requirements Team (SRT) which sets out new working conditions and unacceptable disciplinary procedures.

The document appeared despite there being no discussion with trade unions, and despite the fact that it contradicts established policies, especially regarding discipline. For example, it states that the GSM of a station at which an SRT staff member is working can discipline that member of staff, even though SRT staff have their own employing manager.

The document has now been referred for discussion at the SRT level one meeting on 10 February, and will be removed from the Intranet pending consultation.
