Meeting Report: Placement of OLBI Information
RMT Health & Safety Council representative Tony Gandolfi writes ...
I attended a meeting today looking at the placement of OLBI (Off Line Battery Inverters - emergency lighting batteries) information relating to individual faults at stations with multiple OLBIs, from the Congestion Control and Emergency Plans (CCEP) to the new Station Reference Files.
RMT requested the meeting and the view presented was that the information would sit better in the Station Reference File. The information supports the Rule Book and we should be keen to keep the CCEPs clear of additional info/clutter which reduces their legibility, bearing in mind that the stations where this is relevant are complex and have large CCEPs, ie. Kings Cross 200 plus pages.
Mangement accepted RMT view.
One thing to note is that we have not been consulted on the detailed info or reasoning surrounding it. The principle as I understand it is that stations may be able to remain open depending on the area covered by the particular failed OLBI, ie, where the potential impact affects non public areas.
