New Rep's First Newsletter
King’s Cross Goes It Alone
Barbican and Farringdon join the Liverpool Street Group.
Were you kept informed?
Despite the rumours that have circulated that I had discussed the transfer of staff and two stations - namely Barbican and Farringdon to the Liverpool Street group, nothing could be further from the truth.
A level one meeting was held - the first I attended as union rep at which I was the only rep present. I was asked before the meeting was declared open if there were any issues regarding the merging of the two stations with the Liverpool Street group that I wished to raise. Not only did it seem silly for managers to ask me - since the staff and stations involved will still part of the King's Cross group, but I could not understand what input I could be expected to have when the issue had hardly been put to me, and I had not been advised that this was an issue that would be tabled for discussion at the Level one meeting - which it had not.
That was the last I heard of the matter from Managers on the Liverpool Street group.
From other quarters I have heard that I actually took part in thorough discussions on the matter - if anyone can lay hands on the minutes taken at those discussions please send a copy to me....
The attached newsletter was the first to come from the desk of the brand new rep at Liverpool Street.
