Cannon Street station is undergoing a partial refit. This is thanks to the building directly above the station (not owned by LU) being demolished and a new one being built on the site.

The original plans for the refit of our station were drawn up before we were given the undertaking from the Mayor that no ticket offices would close.

The plans do not include a ticket office and what LU are proposing is to let the contractor build the new ticket hall without a ticket office and then revuild the new ticket hall to include one.

This is an incredible waste of time and money in the middle of a recession. And we have concerns over the motivation behind it. We require assurances that the final build of Cannon Street will include a ticket office.

We have attempted to seek these locally bu no-one at the meeting was in a position to do so.
