Gloucester Road group - strike reports

STRIKE BREAKERS NEED TO OPEN THEIR EYES

Management want to scrap the ‘no compulsory redundancies agreement’, they have made that clear, (RMT members took 2 days strike action to secure this agreement, and won). They go on to say that the only planned job losses are admin, not front line. So then why do they want to scrap it for operational front line staff too?

Remember the fight for ticket offices, management wanted to get rid of 270 jobs and close 39 ticket offices? Under this agreement displaced staff would get redeployed with protected earnings.

If this agreement is scrapped, when management come back to take your job, and they will, there will be no redeployment, no protected earnings, just unemployment. Get behind the fight to save your job!

Desperate managers ditch safety and break rules.

In a bid to keep stations open even though there was practically no service, managers locked Sloane Sq and left it unmanned. At about 13:00hrs the paper seller outside the station could hear frightened customers locked in the station after a train had stopped. After some time the paper seller was able to help free the frightened customers, leaving the station open and unmanned. The strike breaking driver is now facing discipline.

On the same day, it is reported that Gloucester Road was open but with only 2 managers working. In what is believed to be a cover up and breach of safety the evacuation register for that day has been removed! Wonder why?

If you have any information on either of these two incidents please contact: Gaed Ahmed, RMT Health & Safety Rep, 07980 978 945.

SECURITY CHECKS

Supervisors are bombarded with emails that go on about the importance of doing hourly security checks, and some have been disciplined over them not being done.

So then why were no security checks done on Wednesday at Gloucester Road?

Wonder what TRANSEC will think of this?
