Update: Training, continuous development
Management reported at the Strategy and Development Forum on 14 May that the new training programme was to start the following week. There will be fewer Station Supervisors in each class. We asked how this will be achieved with the existing number and trainers, suggesting that more trainers' posts should be created.
Training will continue to take place at several venues, now including: Harrow-on-the-Hill, Stratford, Oxford Circus, Cranbourn Street, Ashfield House.
RMT has long proposed part-time courses for part-time staff staff. Management continue to agree in principle, but in practice, this is still 'in the pipeline'. RMT is running out of patience on this issue, as for our members who are part-timers, being made to work full-time hours on training can be very disruptive.
We also asked whether staff whose licence has been suspended for disciplinary reasons will get training to renew their licence. We await a response from management.
