Staff Our Stations
LUL management is attacking your rights, your job security, your working conditions and your career prospects. Exhaustive talks have failed to persuade the company to step back from these attacks, so RMT will be balloting its members for strike action. TSSA will be balloting too, and the two unions are pledged to act together.
LUL management - and behind them, the Mayor - want a Tube workforce that they can push around without resistance. They want to replace workers who have rights and security with casual staff hired from agencies. They want to cut even the skeleton-level staffing levels that we have now. And they want to water down the rules that protect your safety at work.
This affects other grades too, so RMT is asking drivers to take action alongside station staff. Details of the ballot will follow soon. In the meantime, get involved in your union’s campaign. Talk to your rep; go to your branch meeting, come to our stations & revenue grades meetings.
RMT demands
- No ticket office cuts and closures - withdraw the plans!
- Keep our minimum staffing numbers - reverse the changes to the emergency plans.
- Respect our right to refuse unsafe work.
- A station supervisor on duty at every station - no mobile supervision.
- LUL work to be done by LUL staff - including at Heathrow Terminal 5.
- No more use of agencies - give the agency staff LUL jobs.
- No more use of private security guards.
- No rostered lone working unless from a place of safety.
- A review of recruitment - internal promotion before outside recruitment.
Vote YES for action againstde-staffing and casualisation.
