Willesden Green :Support your colleagues and protect your working conditions. VOTE YES FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION
We are balloting our members on the group over a breakdown in industrial relations resulting from local managements refusal to abide by London Undergrounds policies and procedures . As a consequence of managements actions many of our members have suffered hardship and distress .Many of you may not have been affected directly by Managements actions but lots of your colleagues have and if for example you have the misfortune of having a health problem, a disciplinary issue ,a domestic issue, a disability ,a bereavement or an annual leave issue, you may also suffer the same distress and hardship. The issues we have on the group are matters of principle around the way in which local Management are implementing and applying London Undergrounds policies and Procedures.
Local Union Representatives have tried to raise our issues with Management but they are refusing to even discuss many of our issues and concerns, let alone change their approach. Stations Functional Council Representatives have raised the issue with senior management but Management are dragging their feet and seem more intent on ignoring the problem in the hope that it will just go away.
Even if you are unaffected by the issues now, it could affect you at some stage in the future. It is for this reason that we are asking you to vote yes for strike action and industrial action short of a strike. By doing so we will be sending a clear message to our colleagues who have suffered from these abuses that we are 100% behind them and we will not tolerate managements attacks on our workmates. We will also be sending a clear message to management that they must sit down with our representatives and enter into serious discussions.
P.S. If you are a member on the group a leaftlet attached to this story can be downloaded for distributing to your colleagues.
