RMT Lists Items for SRT Review

On 19 January, LUL management and union reps will meet to review the functioning of the Special Requirements Team. RMT has submitted the following items. If you have any other issues you would like us to raise, please e-mail Janine Booth without delay!

  1. Trade union representation
    • Management's refusal to recognise trade union representatives
    • Level/Tier 1 meetings not taking place
    • Union Notice Boards
  2. Defining mixed link shifts i.e. have been given dead early shifts which was not part of the Framework agreement.
  3. SRT Deployment
    • SRT staff have been used to cover rostered duties eg. Stratford Group
    • SRT staff being sent to stations as 'spares' and then the local manager leaving rostered duties uncovered.
    • What is a special requirement?
    • SRT request form
  4. Training issues
    • Renewing ticket office licenses
    • Continuous competence assurance - How can this be conducted for SRT SS when they are not allowed to cover a rostered SS position.
    • How is this to be conducted for all SRT staff when they are working at so many different locations and who is conducting it?
  5. Rest day Rosters - Given 1 or 3 rest days in a week
  6. Issues for New starters/Probationers
    • How are they being assessed and by who?
    • Are they being put at a disadvantage compared to probationers at Station Groups in trying to achieve the required standard to pass their probationary period i.e. working at so many locations being much more difficult for a new starter to adapt to.
  7. General information about SRT
    • How many staff have nominated out of the SRT?
    • How many vacancies and what are they?
    • Does the SRT work and is it really needed?
