Meeting: Pay and Victimisation

13/10/2008

From your RMT Regional Council

RMT MEETING TO DISCUSS THIS YEAR'S PAY CLAIM AND THE VICTIMISATION OF REPS AND ACTIVISTS

Monday 13 October, 18:30, Friends House, 173 Euston Road (opposite Euston Station).

We are coming up to the time when the RMT will be discussing your next pay deal with the employers. We are seeking your views on what the pay claim should be and are asking you to attend this meeting to have your say on your future. As a democratic organisation we seek our members’ opinions on all important items and this is your chance to take part in this essential discussion.

We will also be devoting time to forming a strategy to combat management’s harassment and sacking of RMT reps, activists and members.

Metronet’s Andy Littlechild is the latest in a long line of victimised reps. No union can survive if their reps are picked off one by one. Reps and activists are the glue which holds the union together and if we let management un-pick that glue then we will be leaderless and unorganised when attacks on our pay and conditions are made.

Every one of us knows someone who has been sacked, disciplined or harassed by managers.

We will be meeting at Friends House, 173 Euston Road (opposite Euston Station). Call Steve Hedley (Regional Council Secretary) for more details on 07846-266934.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - NO MORE VICTIMISATION
DEFEND YOURSELVES, YOUR REPS AND YOUR UNION
