Detrainment Strikers Get Hardship Payments
From the Bakerloo line RMT branch newsletter
The detrainment staff who have struck solidly over 7 days against lone working have received hardship payments from the Bakerloo Branch and will receive a payment from the national union.
This is in recognition of their solidarity and 100% commitment to their campaign against Bakerloo management's attempt to impose an unsafe and unnecessary practice.
Not one member of staff concerned has scabbed during their dispute and their determination and resolve to defend their procedures and their safety is an example to everyone in the RMT. Only managers and RCI’s have kept the stations open during their strike.
Taking roughly a day's strike every month for the last 7 months they have ensured that Bakerloo management have not imposed their unsafe procedure. Bakerloo detrainment staff lead the way!
