Collective grievance King's Cross

Collective grievance from King's Cross

Our fundamental objections are to:
Loss of 12 f/t CSA posts, two p/t CSA posts, two CCA posts and seven rostered SAMF posts, with a consequent reduction of reserve SAMF posts.

King's Cross ticket office cuts

Finally, LU has spilled the beans as to its intentions for the King's Cross ticket offices, which it left out of the original details for ticket office cuts.. Here are the gory details (current times in brackets).

Referral from Embankment group: proposed roster changes

Local management are trying to cut a Supervisor post at Mansion House, claiming that the meal break turn is no longer needed. The GSM originally claimed that this was due to the closure of Blackfriars station, but management also claimed that absenteeism was an issue. RMT opposes this move, because:

Stop The Job Slaughter

Stop The Job Slaughter

So… let’s get it right from the start: the banks have screwed up; the bankers have screwed up; PPP has been a massive failure; Metronet has gone bankrupt; Tubelines is about to go bust too. Oh, and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have drained billions that could have been spent on health, education and, er… public transport. But, but, but…it’s Tube workers who are expected to pay. They want to sack us to pay for their mess.

New Threat to Stations Jobs

The attachment on this article details the management's attempt to drive custom away from ticket office windows and therefore do away with ticket office jobs.

What no canteen???

The redevelopment of King's Cross station continues apace - and LUL doesn't want to be troubled by little matters like the needs of staff.

Circle management say there are too few staff at the station to warrant us having canteen facilites. King's Cross currently has 176 staff - at the one location. The Group, (KX & Farringdon & Barbican), has 211.

Remembering King's Cross

Today is the twentieth anniversary of the King’s Cross fire. 31 people died, prompting major improvements in fire safety regulations for sub-surface railway stations. The core of these are known as the Section 12 rules. Two decades on, RMT continues to campaign against any attempts to reduce fire safety - whether from government or employers.
